Dop December 2008, Auckland 236pp 170mmx240mm softcover
This recreates the events and causes leading up to the Bennier tragedy of 1917 - the murder of Ethell Bennier in Wanganui. In doing this Campbell recreates the day-to-day existence and living conditions of poor rural workers of the early 20th century in New Zeaaland, especially of married women with children.
