Description

Mary Cresswell works with words and relaxes with words. Her 'serious' poetry, which often addresses itself to memory and loss, is widely published in the United States and New Zealand. She has always lived and flourished within the wackier fringe of word people - philosophers, linguists, historians, literature professors, writers - who have given her an acute and often painful appreciation of the absurd. This collection represents her love of parody and satire, as well as her roots in American and English poetry.

Author description

Mary Cresswell is a Wellington poet living on the Kapiti Coast. She is originally from Los Angeles and has been in NZ many years, working as a freelance science editor. She is co-author of Millionaire's Shortbread (University of Otago, 2003) and has published widely in print and online poetry journals in NZ and overseas (mainly in the US).
