This book focuses on three outstanding Pacific leaders: Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, Afioga Va'ai Kolone and Sir Robert Rex. These men, all different in background, temperament and upbringing, stuggled along diverse paths to get an education, then led their countries through the thickets of colonialism and local factionalism, ultimately to self-government.
