DescriptionMany people are frustrated by the mass-produced guitar, and long for a unique instrument hand-made to their own specification and design. This practical book will help you to achieve that dream, and inform and enlighten you along the way. Drawing on a range of ideas and techniques, it explains the process in a clear and logical way, thereby demystifying the task and making the guitar a joy to build and then to play. Author descriptionNick Blishen had worked in the electronics industry for over twenty years, as a prototype wireman, test engineer and design draughtsman, before making a major career change and going back to college to study guitar making. He then set up his own workshop, making guitars and repairing instruments for local musicians and music shops. During this time, he was asked to teach a guitar-making evening class at London Metropolitan University, which was followed by teaching a day a week, until eventually he found himself course leader and senior lecturer for the BSc Musical Instruments degree course. |
